One clear rate per session. Pay through Step Up For Students or AAA Scholarship Foundation with a Unique Abilities Scholarship (FES-UA) or a Personalized Education Program (PEP) account, or pay privately. The rate is the same every way.
Your Unique Abilities (FES-UA) or PEP funds live in your Education Market Assistant (EMA) account.
You choose Janessa in EMA and reserve funds for the sessions you plan.
After each session, Janessa sends the payment request. You can track it in EMA.
EMA is where your Unique Abilities (FES-UA) or PEP funds live. Use the official Step Up login page.

Reserve a few weeks at a time. You can adjust as the schedule settles.
You can review and track every payment in EMA.
Prefer to pay first and get paid back? Families can request a reimbursement in EMA for an eligible expense they paid out of pocket. Direct pay is simpler, and it keeps your money in your pocket.
AAA works differently from Step Up, because payments start with a request in AAA’s Scholarship Management Platform. With FES-UA, FES-UA families can ask AAA to pay a provider directly by submitting a Direct Vendor Payment Request with the provider's invoice. With PEP, PEP through AAA is a reimbursement program: you pay the provider, then request repayment in the Scholarship Management Platform.
I send FES-UA families invoices for direct payment and PEP families paid receipts for reimbursement. The rate is the same as for every other family.
How paying for tutoring with AAA worksPay monthly in advance for the sessions on your schedule.
Accepted methods: Credit or debit card, bank transfer, or cash
Yes. You pay the same rate either way, and there are no discounts or extras tied to how you pay.
Not with direct pay, as long as you have funds reserved in EMA for your sessions. If your balance runs low, I will let you know before it runs out.
I will tell you before reserved funds run out, so you can decide whether to adjust the schedule, wait for the next quarterly funding, or switch to private pay for a while.
Part-time tutoring is capped at 720 hours a year for grades K-3 and 900 hours a year for grades 4-12. A typical twice-weekly schedule stays well under the cap.
