How in-person and online sessions work
In-person sessions happen in your home or another quiet spot we agree on, within about 30 minutes of Lake Worth Beach. Public libraries set their own rules for study rooms and tutoring, so we check them together before choosing one.
Online sessions use the same structure: a short check-in, review, explicit teaching, guided practice, and a quick reflection. Your child needs a laptop or tablet with a camera, a quiet spot, and paper and pencil.
You can also mix the two, for example in person during the school year and online over breaks. We can change the format any time.
Questions about locations
How far do you travel for in-person sessions?
I teach in person within about 30 minutes of Lake Worth Beach. Farther out, we meet online with the same lesson structure.
Do online sessions work for young children?
Often, yes, especially with a parent nearby for the first few sessions. Younger readers sometimes do best in person, so we decide together on the fit call.
Is the price different for in-person and online sessions?
No. The rate is the same for in-person and online sessions, and the same for Step Up direct pay and private pay.
Rates and policies Can families anywhere in Palm Beach County pay with Step Up?
Yes. Step Up rules are the same across the county, so a Unique Abilities Scholarship (FES-UA) or PEP account can often pay me directly through EMA wherever you live.
